Jenny & Avernus Video

many thanks to Caroline for filming and editing this cool video!

Jenny & Avernus

Jenny and I go back a few years. She was part of Jeremy's youth group for a while and we've always made a small effort to stay in touch. I ran into her at the coffee shop a few weeks ago and asked if she would be interested in modeling for me, as I'd not shot anything for the fun of it in ages.

Jenny has always been in love with her horses. She owns two horses (I think!) that she's bought with her own hard earned money, and she works with them for 2-3 hours a day. I learned while I was shooting that she has wonderful plans to be a equine vet.

The day of the session finally came and we all dragged ourselves out of bed in the dark (5:30 am) to get ready to catch the sunrise. We lucked out -- we had the most beautiful morning possible. It was cool and crisp and the light was just gorgeous. Caroline came with me, shot a bit of still camera as well as a bit of video. We hope to put together a sort of cool music video of the shoot. Stay tuned to see us in action!

Now to the images:

this one is focused on Avernus - i sorta think that Jenny looks cool out of focus

this is so Jenny; she is just so sweet!

caroline shot this; I couldn't help but post it...

*this class will be focused primarily on SLR camera's -- I advise you to bring one that you use and learn with*

And because it seems against the law it post without a picture, here's one of my favorite little guy!

landon

Hi! Can't believe how long it's been since I've posted; I wanted to post this a couple days ago, but didn't get around to it.

Landon's mom called me up the other day to see if knew about the sunflower fields outside of town. She wanted to do some new pics of Landon and did I think that would be a good spot. I said, "No I didn't know about them and I would LOVE to take some pictures with them [the sunflowers]."

We met out at the fields and I just blown away by the coolness of so many fields full of sunflowers. So very pretty...

Landon and I have been best buds since he was born four years ago, so we always have a blast when we meet to take new pictures! Check out my faves below:

If anyone else is interested in pictures new the sunflowers, please give me a ring! The flowers probably won't last very long, but should be good for a few more days... I'd love to shoot some other sessions out there!

my new friend Max

So everyone remembers my new friend, Amy, right? (if not, click here and check out her super fun maternity pics.)

When Amy and I got together to shoot her maternity pics, I kept telling her that it was 'so important' to take newborn pictures within the first 2 weeks. If you catch the babies when they are that young, they sleep most of the day (or so my friends kept telling me; Henry didn't believe in sleeping!) and are still able fold up in a super cute little ball, so on and so on I went, telling her all about the importance of letting me come over to shoot before Max was 'too old'.

She let come over on the two week mark. We made plans to meet at 8:30 AM, (which might sound early to you people without babies), so that Max would be fed and ready to SLEEP! And don't ya just know that Max was WIDE AWAKE! And stayed wide awake! So I took awake pictures of Max. It wasn't until he was fed and bounced that he finally went to sleep...

Once he went to sleep he let me move him about and wrap him up and take his diaper off and 'position' him just so! I just love the pics! Amy and Jason have the perfect house for shooting with natural light and I just loved what I was able to come up with.
